Project Description

Another exciting major upgrade for Eddie and Daphne Brook who are based in Springston, Canterbury. Through their 44 rotary, contract milkers Noel and Letesha Brook milk 350 Holstien cows. It was time to invest for the future with the installation of MilktechNZ® CR-1 electronic cup removers, cow restraints and in bail combo teat sprayer with leg spreader. Installation was carried out over a couple of weeks between milkings by our skilled team at Laser Electrical Dairy division based in Ashburton.
Noel said, “we were wanting piece of mind with our milking routine and it was very important for us that the cluster was being removed at the correct time. It was also very important to have the teat spraying done immediately after milking. Skilled labour is a major hurdle in our industry and this type of technology helps us future proof our future. There were many key features with purchasing the MilktechNZ® CR-1 cup removers but the main ones were New Zealand owned and manufactured, changing our milking parameters during the season to suit our herd, and in bail teat spraying which means teat spraying at the right time.”
Many thanks to the Brook family from the team at MilktechNZ®.
