A very exciting project for MilktechNZ® with our first installation in the beautiful far north of the MilktechNZ® electronic cup removers. This exciting project was carried out for Leah and Sean Frieling who farm near Kaitaia. Here they milk 730 cows through their 60 unit rotary, which is not your typical dairy as there is no roof over two thirds of the dairy. This was no issue for the MilktechNZ® equipment as all the electronics are positioned under the platform away from the elements. Installation was carried out to the highest level over the week between milkings and caused no inconvenience to their milking routines.

Leah grew up on the family farm and moved through the ranks to buy the herd and lease the land from the family and is now successfully running their own business.

Leah said, “We saw cup removers as the first piece of infrastructure the farm needed to be able to grow and run more profitable. They have eased pressure off the workload being a split calving farm. We found the communication great with Craig and Gus, and trust the relationship we have built with them to continue to be looked after which was really important to us. Any questions or queries, it’s always good to know someone is always just a phone call away. Our best feature would have to be the ability to control everything ourselves via the phone and customise things as the milking season changes. It is very easy to use. MilktechNZ® wasn’t the lowest price we got from multiple companies but its technology and features was why we chose them, and on visiting other MilktechNZ® farms and talking to those farmers the minimal issues they have had with the equipment was really important to us.
