Project Description

MilktechNZ® are thrilled to be part of another very exciting new installation for the Fisken family who are based in Waikite Valley (famous for their hot pools) near Rotorua. The Fiskens first moved to the area in 1988 starting with 200 hectares running as a sheep/beef unit. In 1990 the farm was converted to dairy milking 400 cows. Over the years the business has grown and in 2001 they installed a 60 unit rotary replacing the smaller herringbone. Over the years they have doubled their land size and now milk 950 cows on 400 hectares.
The Fiskens said, “We are very excited to be starting the new season with MilktechNZ® cup removers, retention arms and finally a better way of teat spraying our cows with MilktechNZ® TS-1 in bail teat spraying. With unsustainable maintenance costs and operator frustration, it was time to upgrade. We love MilktechNZ® is New Zealand owned and well supported by our local agent. The installation was quick and of the highest quality. The support from Craig at MilktechNZ® was excellent. The sales process was very clear and he was there during the installation, commissioning and training on the equipment. We are excited to use the new features and knowing our staff will have a reliable, easy to use system is very important.”
Away from the farm Paul won’t be far from the mountain bike tracks and Mathew, who is also a part time vet, spreads his time between that and the farm.
Big thanks to the Fisken family (great photo of Bob, Mathew and Paul) and to the amazing installation done by our agent.
